CAS Supervisor Support
NIST IB Diploma students are involved in a very wide range of CAS (creativity, activity, service) Experiences.
As CAS is based on an experiential learning cycle reflection and evaluation are an important part of the process. For every CAS experience they engage in students need to find an appropriate supervisor to ensure they have completed the experience successfully. NIST students have supervisors that are within NIST such as teachers, staff or community members or people outside of NIST that run or assist with the experiences.
The current Y12’s have been introduced to CAS and they and some Y13’s will also be seeking your assistance as a CAS supervisor. I have attached a link to a document that explains the role to the link below. The onus is on the student to approach you re being the supervisor and it is their responsibility to get the form signed an uploaded to their Managebac portfolio. At the end of the experience you will be asked to complete a short review on the students that only takes several minutes.
If you are a supervisor and can’t access these documents via the portal please let me know and I’ll email them to you. If you have any questions or concerns re CAS supervision please come and see me or email me at [email protected]
Thanks for your help in the student’s experiential learning. If you wan tot se some of the vast array of CAS experiences students are involved in please check at the CAScade
